Shift heals the root underneath it all. From heartbreak to hormones, it’s all connected.
The Shift Method
Awareness
See it. We help you see your own patterns clearly. The protective responses that have been running on autopilot in your relationships, your work, and your body. We show you how you've been contributing to keeping yourself stuck without ever realizing it. Awareness is what finally breaks the cycle, allowing you to shift.
Gap
Feel it. We slow the moment between feeling and reacting, bypassing the thinking mind that has been spinning on these patterns for years. The gap is where you feel the deeper emotions underneath. Where you learn to sit with discomfort instead of racing to escape it. Where you process what you've been avoiding and reconnect to your deeper self. The gap is where real change happens.
Shift
Move into it. This is where the rewiring happens. Your brain is neuroplastic, which means old patterns can be updated at the root, not just managed. Through new experience and repetition, your nervous system learns a new default, and you start to feel like a different version of yourself. We build personalized Shifting Rituals that move you into the life you want: your career, your relationships, your body, your health. One ritual at a time, you become the woman on the other side of the loop.
Our Science
Shift sits at the intersection of nine evidence-based fields, including polyvagal theory, neuroplasticity, somatic psychology, and interoception research. We work deeper than wellness has gone, at the root, where change actually happens.
We're Certified Integrative Somatic Practitioners, trained under Dr. Rachel Eva Dew, DNM, PhD, at the Integrative Wellness Academy.
Meet Annie.
Annie is a co-founder of Shift. She's a Certified Integrative Somatic Practitioner through the Integrative Wellness Academy, trained under Dr. Rachel Eva Dew, DNM, PhD, certified in Functional Nutrition, and holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell.
For over a decade she tried to solve herself. PCOS, autoimmune disease, gut issues, anxiety, anxious attachment, and a career that looked impressive from the outside and felt lost on the inside. None of it moved until she stopped working on the symptoms and started working on the root.
She spent seven years in venture capital investing in the health and wellness industry before leaving to build Shift. She figured out how to heal at the root and built the company to bring that work to other women. She works with women on emotional eating, dating and relationships, attachment, career change, identity shifts, and the daily habits that actually shift how you feel.
Meet Marissa.
Marissa is a co-founder of Shift and a Certified Integrative Somatic Practitioner through the Integrative Wellness Academy, trained under Dr. Rachel Eva Dew, DNM, PhD. Before Shift, she was a product leader at Peloton and was on the founding team building multiple consumer startups, including in women's health.
Marissa carried what so many high-functioning women carry throughout her 20’s and 30’s: insomnia, hormonal imbalances, skin issues, and the anxious-attachment patterns she could name but couldn't change. The work Shift now teaches is what finally got her to the other side. She built Shift with Annie so other women could transform their health, relationships and lives too.
Marissa works with women on grief, breakups, career change, life transitions, friendships, and the new chapters that ask you to step into the next version of yourself.
Choose your way in.
Shift 1:1
Work 1:1 with Annie and Marissa on what you're actually moving through, a pattern you keep repeating, a chapter that's changing, a version of yourself you can't seem to reach. Every package starts with a free 15-minute call.
Shift Membership
A monthly membership where the work becomes a practice, not a one-time fix. Each month we take on a new theme, the body, dating, career, grief, rest, with a live workshop, courses, a weekly rhythm, and a community of women doing it with you.
One root, everything downstream.
We work at a deeper layer, the one that runs your patterns, your reactions, and the stories you tell yourself. The same layer behind your stress, your relationships, your career, and physical symptoms from autoimmune to insomnia.
We identify your patterns, work with your nervous system, and build the practices that get you unstuck for good.
The shift: the version of yourself you've been trying to become becomes your reality.
-
The same protective patterns shape who you choose, what you put up with, and why you keep having the same fight. Update the pattern, form secure attachments, and the dynamic changes with it.
-
The stuckness at work is rarely about the job. It's the knowing something isn’t right, but being afraid to make a change, or not knowing what the next right step is. It’s the fear of being seen, the over-functioning, the decision you keep not making. We work the pattern underneath it.
-
Chronic stress from emotion you never processed and the coping mechanisms you use to escape discomfort keep your body in a state that shows up as symptoms, from inflammation to insomnia. Settle the root and the body follows.
-
The scroll, the second drink, the overworking, the food. These are your nervous system managing discomfort. You might have tried willpower before and it didn’t work, because willpower doesn’t work. We change what's underneath the urge, so you don't need the coping anymore.
From our members
“Shift with Marissa and Annie was a truly transformative experience, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. It fundamentally changed the way I see myself and how I engage with the world around me.”
— Shift Member“You said things I've never even considered for myself. I keep viewing myself as the problem and hating the anxiety I bring into my relationships, but the way you beautifully shifted how it can be viewed as qualities to embrace and cherish is so encouraging. I haven't loved myself enough to embody that perspective. The mindset shift I needed.”
— Shift Member“Connecting the patterns is so interesting and you both seem so educated on everything. I've been working with a new therapist and there's a lot of overlap. I didn't realize how much of what I do is actually OCD instead of anxiety, so there's been a lot of me naming my loops, including the physical symptoms.”

Awareness is grounded in interoception research, emotional granularity science, attachment theory, and psychoneuroimmunology. The protective responses running your life today became automatic through years of repetition. The scrolling, the eating, the over-functioning, the ways you escape discomfort without realizing you're doing it. Many of these patterns started early, as adaptations that kept you safe. Seeing them clearly is the first move. The research is clear that naming a pattern with precision is what disarms its automatic power. And the symptoms you've been trying to fix, the gut, the hormones, the anxiety, the sleep, are connected to those patterns through the body's stress physiology. They are not separate problems.

The gap is grounded in polyvagal theory, somatic psychology, and the neuroscience of emotional response. When you slow the moment between feeling and reacting, you create the space your nervous system needs to move out of fight or flight and back toward safety. The full physiological intensity of a feeling passes in 90 seconds when you stop fueling it with a reaction or a story. Sitting with the emotion in your body is what lets it move. This is the layer conventional talk therapy alone often does not reach. Emotion is not just a thought. It is a physical response that needs to be felt and processed through the body.

Shift is grounded in neuroplasticity, self-compassion science, and behavioral change research. The brain rewires through repeated experience, the same mechanism that wired the old patterns. Personalized Shifting Rituals interrupt the old loops and build new neural pathways in their place. The research is clear that lasting behavior change is supported by self-compassion, not self-criticism. The threat system shuts learning down. The soothing system opens it up.
